 After a long period of producing figurative and naive paintings, Baumgarten's work today is closer to abstract art. The various different periods of her creative development can be seen on this site. First in Alsace in the 70s her glass paintings which are poetic and full of fantasy signed under the name of Françoise Braun. These were followed by her lyrical naive canvases which she signed as Baumgarten. Paris-Tokyo. From 2000 - 2004 in Haute Provence she developed her work and produced refined landscapes. She followed these with large scale canvases that are charged with energy. Currently her works are palimpsests where she re-works over existing drawings. |
